The Polar Express

This past weekend we went with Eddie's family to Palestine to ride The Polar Express. It was about an hour long train ride that goes from Palestine to Rusk and back. We all had such a wonderful time. The chefs danced in the aisle, we drank hot chocolate, met Santa Clause, received a bell, and we all got our tickets punched, just like the story. All the kids, plus some of us adults, even wore our pajamas. It was definitely worth the trip and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cash has fallen in love with my camera and steals it from me every chance he gets. It took me a while that night to get the setting back to where I needed it to be. Some of the pictures are a little fuzzy but I think I still got some good ones.

Since we were all together this weekend anyway we decided to have Christmas at the lake house. There were 14 of us in a very quaint little cabin. Luckily our neighbors next door let some of stay in their guest house so we weren't too crowded. Still it was rather cozy at times. Eddie and I were excited because we were able to take his sisters and their husbands to the deer lease to hunt. His sister Julie shot her first deer and so did Becky's husband. Becky and I were big girls and went to the stand by oursleves and were going to shoot a deer by ourlseves and really impress the men. The only problem was we saw absolutely nothing! I love being in Crockett and personally hope we have started a new tradition.

Is it Friday yet?

Just thought I would share with you that a bottle of black fingernail polish just busted in my purse...my Coach purse! Luckily I bought the purse at the Coach Outlet or I would really be sick to my stomach.

Tag You're It!

Another picture that makes me sad! Ok, all pregnancy hormones aside. This is when we took Cash to JCPenney for his one year pictures. He did so good given the circumstances. It was a Saturday, the studio was so crowded, the family in front of us was not well behaved, and I had my two younger cousins with us. Still, I can not believe how much he has changed. In about a month we will celebrate his 3rd birthday!
These are the directions:
1. choose the 4th picture folder on your computer
2. choose the 4th picture
3. explain the picture
4. and tag 4 more people to do the same
**I tag Shelby, Amy Harlien, Lynn, and
Jill Cartwright.

I think having another baby is making me sad Cash is not a baby anymore. He has changed so much!

Snow

Thank goodness we have friends and family who pay more attention to what is going on around us than I do. Cash and I would have missed the snow if everyone would not have called to see if he was playing in it. Eddie was still at the shop and we were in the house watching Home Alone so I had no idea it was snowing like that. Cash really enjoyed the snow. At first I didn't have gloves on him so after about 20 minutes we had to come inside because his poor hands so hurt bad. Luckily I found a pair in his closet. The other diemma was the battery on my camera was dead. I tried to take a few pictures with my phone but they were not turning out. I was able to let the battery charge long enough to take some pictures. I know people keep saying it snowed here not too long ago but I do not ever remember seeing snow like this. The only time that comes close is when I was probably about 4 years old and we still lived on the ranch. I would love to think it might snow again like this closer to Christmas but I am not going to get my hopes up.

Cash and The Computer

At Mother's Day Out, Grandmother's Day Out as I call it, Cash goes to computer class on Mondays. We always get a report letting us know what he did and the teacher says he enjoys class and is doing well. He got a Vtech computer for Christmas last year and he liked it but the mouse quit working. My dad could probably fix it but now I can't find the keybord at all. Last night when I was trying to work on Christmas cards Cash wanted to sit in my lap and play on the computer. I decided to Google online games for him to play and I came across this Donald Duck game where you help him make pizzas. It would be really good for kids a little older because it teaches patterns and stuff but Cash just likes to click on things. He amazed me tough. I would tell him to click on the yellow pepper or the red tomato or the mushroom and he would. We made 15 pizzas before he ever made a mistake. I told Eddie about it when he got home from his meeting and he was just as excited as I was. What we can't figure out is why our almost three year old can play computer games but isn't fully potty trained!

Doctor Appointment

I went to the doctor yesterday and had the shock of my life. I made the mistake of asking the nurse how much weight I have gained. Much to my surprise she told me 20 lbs! I couldn't believe it. I won't be 20 weeks until Thursday so she was basically telling me I have gained a pound a week. My doctor did not sound too concerned so I kind-of, kind-of laughed it off. The worst part was I was hungry when I left the doctor's office! What confuses me is I can still wear my regular pants (they don't button but I can wear them.) I wasn't about to tell Eddie. I knew I would never hear the end of it. This morning around 4am I went to the bathroom and decided to weigh myself. According to my scale I have only gained 9 lbs, which would be much more reasonable. I don't know if I should email my nurse and tell her or just let it look like I lost a lot of weight on my next appointment. On the flip sound, Colt's little heartbeat was just beating away. Everything is going good. April will be here before we know it. We taught Cash a while back that mommy had a baby in her tummy and he needed to be easy with mommy. Ever since we told him it was a boy and that he was going to have a little brother, I swear he will walk up and kind of pop me (not hard) on my tummy. I think he is already trying to let Colt know who is boss.

It's a Boy!!

Colt Matthew Glover-due April 30th (unless he turns out to be as big as his brother then he will be here a little earlier!) We are so excited about having 2 boys. This morning I taught Cash to say, "brother."

Happy Thanksgiving

Eddie and I are leaving tomorrow for the deer lease and then meeting up with Cash and the rest of the family in Huntsville on Wednesday. I'm inspired by Jill's story of taking Cody to the deer stand but I don't think Cash will be quiet! I want to hunt this time so he is going to stay with his grandmother. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

This is an old picture but Cash is pretending to shoot his gun. The glasses were my mom's from when she had eye surgery.

More family pictures

A friend made a comment on her blog about remembering when it was only her, her husband, and their son. She said she fondly remembers when they were, "just a family of three." They love their new baby girl, but nothing is like the feeling of having your first child and expanding your family for the first time. It made me realize how much things are going to change when our new baby gets here. I have of course thought about diapers, formula, not sleeping, decorating a nursery, even more laundry, another car seat, and all of those things. I guess I never really thought about how my time with Cash will change. I'm already planning to take one of my days off in the spring to take him to the zoo and us spend the whole day together-a special outing for just the two of us. He is going to love having a brother or sister but I guess I feel a little guilty for taking the spotlight away from him. I think my hormones are getting the best of me!

I Like This Quote

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Overreacting or Overly Concerned?

So my husband leaves yesterday to go to the deer lease and is there by himself. I talked to him at 6:00 last night and told him I would call him back after we ate dinner. I called and called and called....and called and called. I didn't sleep at all last night thinking something happened to him. Finally this morning I call his dad and he hadn't talked to him so we called one of the guys on the lease with us and he had someone drive over to the lease and check on Eddie. Come to find out, the phone was on the charger in the truck this whole entire time! What gets me is the other day I was at home and was taking a shower. Eddie called me two or three times and when I didn't answer he had his dad drive over to the house and check on me. He is out in the middle of east Texas by himself and didn't think I would be worried? Needless to say he feels bad, and I have to admit, I am a little happy about that. Now that I know he is ok I do feel a little silly but an hour 1/2 ago I was in tears. Hopefully now he will answer my phone calls.

Ready for the weekend

I am so ready for the weekend. We are going to Crockett (deer lease/lake house). The girls are going to try to do some Christmas shopping and Eddie will get to hunt. Cash won't stop asking me about the deer! Work has been so stressful this year compared to years past. I don't know if it is the new curriculum or the combination of a lot of things. I don't have conference until 7th period so I am completely wiped out by that time. I worked when I was pregnant with Cash but the difference was I could go home and crash and not have to worry about anyone else. Now I have a 2 year old. Thank goodness for Eddie. He has done more laundry and washed more dishes in the last 4 months then he has our whole marriage! He has helped me so much. Needless to say I am also ready for Thanksgiving break. Luckily we have the whole week off this year. I love the holidays because my family seems to have a tradition for everything. Of course our biggest tradition is eating way too much!

As of today I am 4 months pregnant. We go back to the doctor on December 3rd to find out what we are having. Time is going by so slow! People will ask me what I think we are having but I really have no idea. I am starting to feel movement. It is really just little flutters but I guess since I have been pregnant before I can tell the difference between flutters from the baby and other things :). My self discipline has not been very good lately so I really need to work on that. This baby is due the end of April and I know we are going to Garner in July so I have to be ready!

This picture brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it.

Friends

Just thought I would add this photo. It meant so much to do The Race for the Cure this past April with my girls. I have always admired Alesha's strength and how much she has done for her family. I will be 9 months pregnant this time around so I don't think walking through downtown Ft. Worth is going to be on my agenda but I'm sure the rest of the gang will be there making headlines, again.

Pictures of Cash

This is Cash's first day of Mother's Day Out this year. Well, it is more like Grandmother's Day Out because mommy works. He loves it. His cousin Drew is in his class and they have so much fun together.

This picture was taken after Hurricane Ike. I guess Cash had finally had enough.

(Right) I think this is when the obsession began. Cash was in the Little Wrangler Rodeo this past summer. He won ribbons in the hat race and stick horse race. I think he would have won the stick horse race if his grandparents would not have distracted him :).

Halloween 2008

Cash loved Halloween this year. We did a hayride with all the kids and some neighbors down the street. I dressed him up like a rodeo clown. He has been obssessed with rodeo, bull riding (unfortunately), horses, roping, everything since the Crosby Rodeo.

First Entry

Hello,

I try to keep up with everyone through MySpace and Facebook and have really enjoyed it, but when I looked at a friend's blog yesterday, I thought this might be fun also. I am going to try my best to keep it updated and put tons of pictures for everyone to see.

For those we haven't talked to in a while, and those we have, Eddie and I have one very busy 2 year old son named Cash and another baby on the way. Our due date is April 30th but I think he/she will be here more around the 20th. Cash was a very big baby so my doctor wants to try to stop around 9 lbs. this time! Our next appointment is on December 3rd and hopefully we will find out if Cash will have a brother or sister.
